Treatments will be carried out in a relaxing environment in Cove, Mid Devon. Home visits may be possible if more appropriate for your circumstances.
Within your first treatment we will complete a health and lifestyle questionnaire. This is to gain a holistic picture of yourself and any health issues you have. Please bring a list of any medications that you are taking. All information will be kept confidential.
A comfy recliner chair is available for your treatment and you will need to take off your shoes and socks (if treating feet). I have blankets to keep you warm if needed and usually play gentle music to help create a relaxing atmosphere.
A treatment lasts about 1 hour, but allow 75mins for a little pre and post welcome and chat. ( Allow a little longer for first session)
During the treatment I will apply massage and gentle pressure, using thumbs, fingers and knuckles to your feet/ankles or hands/wrists and use a natural organic balm. Some areas on the feet and hands may be tender, just let me know, I can adjust my pressure to suit you.
Most people experience relaxation during a treatment, you may also feel emotional and have a sense of release.
After the treatment I will offer you a glass of water and we can discuss my findings and how you found the treatment. If appropriate I will offer some aftercare advice and we can discuss the best way forward with further reflexology treatments which will be unique to you.
Following a Reflexology Treatment…..
….it is important to look after yourself, rest and drink plenty of fresh water to help flush any toxins through your body.
Occasionally after a treatment people report the following symptoms:
Headache, needing to go to the toilet more frequently, worsening symptoms of an existing condition and having vivid dreams. These are all normal side effects and should pass within 24 – 48 hrs. Reflexologists believe any side effects to be part of a healing response in your body and are a good sign that your body is regaining balance.
